Pre-race routine:

Up early for breakfast. Oatmeal, banana, and coffee.
Event warmup:

No warm up. Figured 10 miles on a trail would be plenty.

Comments:

Very enjoyable course. As hard as any half marathon I've ever done. Wound consider doing it again next year. Ended up biting the dust on one of the downhills when my legs were tired and I caught my right foot on a tree root. Fell face first into a pile of leaves.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing really. Was simply running this event to do something different. No pressure or expectations today. No PR's to worry about. Just a fun challenging race.
Post race
Warm down:

Light strethcing and food.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

All the hills. And my inexperience on trails.

Event comments:

Overall a very enjoyable race. The weather definetly helped make it a great experience. Who would have thought 70 degree temps were possible in Illinois in November! Love it. Will look for this race again next year.

Course: 10 mile trail run. 2 creek crossings. Managed to keep my shoes dry through the first crossing but not so much thru the second. EXTREMLY hilly course. Some hills were so steep that I had to stop halfway up to rest. Very enjoyable course.
