Pre-race routine:

Got to the event early to get good parking in Lot C. Beforehand I was able to watch the marathon and 5K start to watch some of my friends. Afterwards, walked to the Inner Harbor where I was able to use the bathroom and watch some of the faster marathoners around mile 9 and again at mile 13.

Comments:

This race was a practice/tempo race for the Philadelphia Marathon. I felt good and my pace was consistent throughout. Negative split the course.
What would you do differently?:

I think I could've gone out a bit harder in the beginning. I felt great after the race and could have expended a bit more energy. Still happy about dropping about 3 minutes off my previous personal best of 1:25 at the MD Half.

This is my 5th year participating in the Baltimore Running Festival. I love this race and I will continue to come back each year. It is so well organized and the volunteers are great.

Course: The course for the most part is pretty hilly. Lake Montebello is the only flat area of the section. The final miles are a descent down Eutaw street through Camden Yards, finishing by M&T Bank Stadium.
