Comments:

This is a great race. So well organized (Marines!!!!) and well supported by crowds through many neighborhoods. This was my 4th run here in 5 years. While I haven't been specifically training for it (I am training for an IM), I was feeling fit leading into the weekend.
My plan was to run "easy" and enjoy myself and do my best to keep running. Rather than run/walk, I did a run/shuffle. Every mile I would try to bring my pace down and "reset" myself. This seemed to work well.
No major suffering until about mile 22 or so. By mile 24 I was wondering why I keep signing up for these races.
This was a huge PR for me. Also one of my best races in terms of execution. I slowed down the last 10 K, but overall had a fantastic race.
What would you do differently?:

Warm down:

Get my post race snacks/jacket and head to hotel.
This is just about the only race that I don't hit the beer truck. Too cold.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Some soreness/weakness in right leg.

Event comments:

The MCM is a great race and I recommend it to anyone.
