Pre-race routine:

Woke up at 5:30. Cup of coffee, granola bar, and water for breakfast. Walked from hotel to start line at about 6:30. Beautiful weather at start.
Event warmup:

Light stretching. Started in coral E instead of F. Not enough room to even get in to F.

Comments:

Started out at a 9:15-9:30 min pace and felt great the first 6 to 6.5 miles. A very brief stop at mile 3 for water. Started to fell very hot at 10K mark. Walked up a small hill after 10K mark and hit a wall after that. Around mile 10 felt miserable. Felt dehydrated despite stopping for water at every stop. Started to get calf cramps around mile 11.5. Ended up limping to finish due to cramping.
What would you do differently?:

Hydrate better the week of the race. Felt great the first 6 miles but then totaly fell off after that. Time was 1:01 at 10K mark.
Post race
Warm down:

Got half marathon and I-challenge medal and bottle of water and found my family in the stands and then headed up to see them. Didn't even partake in post race food. Went back to hotel to swim with our kids.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Think I should have hydrated better the week leading up to the race and the night before after the 5K.

Event comments:

Great race and great race experience unfortunately not my best performance though. Was really hoping to PR today but was not able to.
