  • 9.32 miles
  • 07m 36s  min/mile
Comments:

Never have run a 15k before - did this race primarily to get a longer run in at a pace faster than I would do by myself ( race cost 0.00$ )- wanted to go between 730-800 min/miles. Did the first 3 miles in 21 min , probably too fast. Was at a 7:20 pace through 7 miles but ran out of gas last two miles.
What would you do differently?:

Not take off too fast (recurring theme in races). Pretty much everyone in front of me had nice even splits , my first 3mi and last 3mi paces are almost 60 seconds apart. Thats bad race execution. Of course they all rock garmins so their watches might help with pacing.
Post race
Warm down:

drink a dr.pepper and then go have a beer

What limited your ability to perform faster:

never have done the distance , unsure of pacing , not really in a mental race mode

Event comments:

PR for this distance ( of course it was the only time I have run this distance )

Just 200 fellow dayton runners sweating together on a nice saturday morning
