Pre-race routine:

Checked my bike over, set up transition, and walked up to the swim start.
Event warmup:

No warm up for this race as you can't get in the water before your wave.
Swim
  • 13m 56s
  • 1640 yards
  • 51s / 100 yards
Comments:

It was great to swim with the current.
Transition 1
  • 03m 52s
Comments:

It's a 400+ meter run to transition with your wetsuit still on your legs. It got hot quickly!
Bike
  • 1h 04m 17s
  • 24.85 miles
  • 23.27 mile/hr
Comments:

The highway was very rough. My Garmin also had the course at 25.75 miles long. And my power meter decided not to work the day before so I didn't have it for the race either. That was quite a frustration for me.

The first six guys came into T2 within 8 seconds of each other. Seems like a red flag to me. Apparently I missed the train/peloton for this race.
Transition 2
  • 00m 58s
Comments:

It was quick but people were still going out on the bike when I came in so it was a big congested and hard to get to my rack. I also forgot to take my Garmin off my bike and put it back on my wrist.
What would you do differently?:

Remember my Garmin.
Run
  • 37m 55s
  • 6.21 miles
  • 06m 04s  min/mile
Comments:

I ran pretty well. I didn't have my watch for pacing, so I went entirely from feel and tried to pace myself. Central Park definitely has some tough hills, but overall I was pleased with my run. I think I could have caught one more person as I was closing on him in the last 1.5 miles but his friend jumped in next to him and paced him out for a while. Tsk tsk...
What would you do differently?:

Run faster.

Event comments:

This was a fantastically run event. There were thousands of volunteers who were great through the entire event. I can't thank them enough for all they did over the course of the weekend. Everything was timely and smoothly run. It was a very cool experience to swim in the Hudson and bike on the Henry Hudson Parkway. It was a bucket list race for me and I'm glad I did it once.
