Up 2hrs before the race, ate an English muffin with peanut butter and honey with some green tea. Made a date, agave nectar, green tea energy drink to sip. Ran for about 10 min before leaving.
Event warmup:

Apart from the run before leaving, nothing. The run made the difference. Felt good starting and everything

Comments:

Pretty good run. I had my goal for my first official sub-20 and I got that, so I'm pleased. It was a fast year for my age group. More than 1/4 of the people who went sub-20 were in my age group. I like the competition. I got mile 1 done in 6:30, which is what I was expecting. The second mile I timed at 6:10 while on the course. Thinking back on it now, that might not be correct. I was hoping for a higher age group rank, but that's ok. I got my official sub-20.

This was a fun run. My brother, sister, and girlfriend's whole family ran this as well. We all did well. Overall, it was a great way to start Thanksgiving.
What would you do differently?:

More track workouts this coming year. I had that as a goal anyway.
Post race
Warm down:

Hung out and waited for everyone else to finish. Ate all the snacks in the goodie bag: banana, nuts, mini-apple pie. Drank a bottle of water and talked with some guy in a turkey costume next to me.

Event comments:

RAM puts on good events. I'll do more of them.
