Run
Comments: Ran the first portion of the Du pretty much as fast I could run. Felt like I was getting anaerobic by .75 miles. Ended up running entire 2 miles without stopping. What would you do differently?: Nothing. Transition 1
Comments: Slow T1. Was out of breath from run. What would you do differently?: Nothing. Bike
Comments: Rode the bike as hard as I could. Felt like I was going to puke at one point which means I was pushing just hard enough. Passed several people on the bike and with the tailwind heading North ended up getting around 30 mph. Still was not able to get in under 40 minutes though. What would you do differently?: Nothing except maybe drink a little more and push harder. Transition 2
Comments: Better T2 this week. Transition area was so big though took a while to get to run out. Contemplated trip to porta potty before run but decided to skip. What would you do differently?: Nothing Run
Comments: Faded a bit during the final 5k. Stopped to walk several times but kept a decent pace throughout. What would you do differently?: Try to run longer segments before walking. Post race
Warm down: Visited with T3 members and congratulated everybody on a good race. Didn't stick around for post race activities, had to get home. What limited your ability to perform faster: The fact that it was a duathalon and not triathalon. Usually use swim as a warm up but today the first 2 mile run ended up going anaerobic early on. Event comments: Swim portion of triathalon ended up being cancelled due to high levels of e.coli in the water so event was changed to duathalon. Ended up being my first duathalon. Was good race for my first du but still prefer tri. Hats off to tri sharks for putting on a great event despite cancelled swim! Last updated: 2012-12-04 12:00 AM

Up early at 5 o'clock to get breakfast before leaving for Evergreen. Ended up eating oatmeal and banana and having cup of coffee.
Bike and transition set up and socializing with T3 members. No formal warm up.
