Swim
Comments: Swim felt great- got into early rythm - long / relaxed strokes. Swim time was slower than expected - saw on other posts the swim was 1.3 miles according to other racer's GPS's. Saved the legs for the 56 mile ride. What would you do differently?: get to the race early enough to get a short warm up in Transition 1
Comments: Long hill after the T1 area. Ended up walking my bike up the hill so it cost a few minutes on the transition. What would you do differently?: Granny gear it before the bike leg Bike
Comments: Was a motivational booster to start the race after the full tri/full aquabike waves. Was able to always have a rider in my sights and aided in passing sever riders. Course was very rough w/ several potholes. Several waterbottles had fallen off other riders bikes. Chaulk Hill was insanly corwded with slower bikers, and due to race rules, you could not cross the double yellow lines. As a result got stuck behind slower riders. After the climb, tucked and hammered as fast as possible to the finish. What would you do differently?: Prep my bike to be ready to climb the T1 hill, finally get a tribike, instead of my 10 year old Giant OCR. Post race
Event comments: Excellent race organization! Will be back in 2013 for the full aqaubike. Last updated: 2012-12-07 12:00 AM

Coming off an achilies rupture, this was my first race 5+ months post surgery. The aquabike was a great alternative as I was unable to run either the 13.1 or 26.2 miles.
