Run
Comments: This was not an officially timed race, so my time is based on my Garmin 910XT results. The run was flat, with the exception of an underpass towards the 3 mile mark. I was in the first group of people to start out (about 4-5 rows back), so I did not have to snake my way through too many people. I held a good, consistent pace for each of the 3 miles, and did not bother to take any water at the aid stations since it was only 3 miles. What would you do differently?: Nothing this was just for fun and I made it part of my daily training. Post race
Warm down: Gathered my post race swag (Gatorade, Muscle Milk and a training journal), then headed for my car and drove home. What limited your ability to perform faster: Nothing - I went at the pace I felt comfortable and strong with and did not waver from it. Event comments: Hard to rate this race as it is not really a "race" for what I am used to. No official timing, so my time is not qualified and I am just using and interpreting this run as an extension of my training. It was nice to talk to some familiar faces after the race, and the t-shirt they provided is actually pretty cool. Last updated: 2012-12-31 12:00 AM

The "race" was not scheduled to start until 9am, and I had a 10K run on my daily training calendar, so after arriving on-site and gathering my swag and bib, I rested in my car, then went out for a pre-race 5K run.
My pre-race 5K run warmed me up well for the event.
