Swim
Comments: Overall not horrible but I really need to figure out what i'm doing wrong here What would you do differently?: Not sure Transition 1
Comments: Had some issues getting the suit off - but dealing with the plastic bag over my kit was also a problem What would you do differently?: Need to practice the wetsuit removal. Bike
Comments: Really a challenging course - I don't think I'll see anything like Garvin Heights anywhere else What would you do differently?: Nothing really Transition 2
Comments: Had some problems racking the bike Run
Comments: Found a pace I was pretty comfortable with right away - lost a little in the middle but pulled it together pretty well at the end. Post race
Warm down: Nothing What limited your ability to perform faster: Cold and wet conditions on the bike - fatigue on the run Event comments: The format with the Oly going after the sprint led to a strange two-part race. My wife won her age group yet by the time she finished her race the sprints and elite awards were done - most of the prizes had been given away and all the hot food was gone. When I went through the line (I waited to cheer her in before went to get my food) I was told that they only had cold veggie sandwiches remaining. When I said I was dissapointed (no anger) the volunteer told me I should have run faster?!? The age group awards are really nice - and they had an entire second award ceremony for the Oly but by then most of the crowd had left with the lousy weather. Last updated: 2013-01-01 12:00 AM

First Tri while sleeping in a hotel - was within easy riding distance so we didn't have to worry about traffic or parking. Woke up - ate a 2 egg omelet two pieces of toast and a banana and a glass of milk. bathroom break and got dressed. Headed out and set up in transition. The Oly was going after the sprint so I ate a PBJ during the course talk
Took a ride on the bike to check the mechanicals and swam 50 yards or so to make sure the wetsuit was in place
