Comments:

Good swim today. First competitive swim in wetsuit. Could tell a difference in speed for sure.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing. Very comfortable swim.
Transition 1
  • 02m 10s
Comments:

Took a little extra time in transition to get wetsuit off. Wasn't as hard as I thought it was going to be though.
What would you do differently?:

  • 18.52 mile/hr
Comments:

Felt great the first 15 miles until the rain hit. Torential rain from miles 15-25 along with very gusty wind. First time riding in rain. Was nervous about wiping out on bike but never felt unsteady.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing.
Transition 2
  • 03m 5s
Comments:

Took a little extra time to dry feet and put on socks and shoes.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing given wet conditions on the bike.

  • 1h 00m 37s
  • 6.2 miles
  • 09m 41s  min/mile
Comments:

Felt pretty good for most of the run. Got pretty tired the last 2 miles and was running in the pouring rain.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing
Post race
Warm down:

Grabbed a slice of pizza and banana and jumped on the trolley to head back to transition to gather up stuff.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Rain on the bike course slowed the bike ride a little but probably not enough to make a difference.

Event comments:

Great swim course. Really liked the out and back private lake swim. Challenging bike course with quite a few rolling hills. Average run course. A little disappointing that there were no gels offered on the run course. Also disappointed that race shirt was a cotton race shirt and there were no finisher medals. Overall a very good course though. Would do this race again!
