Swim
Comments: I lack concentration. I was too nervous and wanted to pee all the way. What would you do differently?: Relax before the race. Get my concentration together in a quiet space and for five minutes before the race talk to no one but me. Drink at least two hours before the race or go pee in the water juste before starting. Look more carefully for bouy (I need to practice that). Concentrate on my technique like if I was in a regular training or a regular exam. The point is to swim well and fast nothing more. Transition 1
What would you do differently?: I guess just be faster overall and practice the routine in my head a few time. I forgot my bag. I need a bag already fixed on my bicycle. Bike
Comments: I love biking. Eventhough I did not go very fast, I did better than I expected. I know I could do more. What would you do differently?: Drink without stopping. Water, water! Juice was very not satisfying. I felt thirsty and that might be the reason I overdrank and wanted to pee so much in the end. Watch for my average speed. I should never let myself go bellow my target average. Concentration again. Transition 2
Run
Comments: At this point I wanted to pee again. Terrible! I feel I wanted to pee all time. My legs were flimsy. No energy. Yet, if it was not for the peeing issue, I could have run faster. After a while, I set a pace for myself and it worked nice. I finished the last 5 km in company of a girl who was about to finish last with me. Nice conversation. I could tell I could have go faster but, at that point, being so behind it felt useless. What would you do differently?: Improve on swim and bike in order not to be the last. That would help a lot keeping my motivation high for the race. It would give me some challenge. Not carry a juice bottle. (Did I say juice was a bad idea? I was thirsty for water!) Again, not overdrink during biking. Wanting to pee is bad! Yet, I could control it at one point so if it happens, just go on without thinking to much about it. Post race
Warm down: None! Oups.... What limited your ability to perform faster: Wanting to pee all the time!!!! Lack of concentration and focus. That was my first race. So I was there to learn. Yep, I came almost the last one. But sure that was fun anyway. There is only room for improvement. I shall show them in the future how good I can be. Event comments: I loved this race. The scenery was wonderful. Great for a first time. Last updated: 2006-06-11 12:00 AM

Every thing was ready.
Drink a 500ml of dilluted grape juice an hour before the race. (bad idea!)
swam a tinny bit 30 minutes before the race. Not a good warmup.
