Pre-race routine:

Worked Ale fest the night before on my feet for about 8 hours plus loading a bunch of cases of beer and the drinking probably didn't help. Probably not the best thing to do the night before a race.

Had a planned 40 min Z2 run that morning so did that at High banks with the COTT trail run. It was really cold and started snowing during.
Event warmup:

Swam a few laps in the 15min between my heat and the previous.
Swim
  • 10m
  • 690 meters
  • 01m 27s / 100 meters
Comments:

I didn't do bad all things considered but would have like to gone over 700m.
Transition 1
  • 10m
Comments:

10:00 timed transition. Had plenty of time to change, walk up stairs, and get to the bikes. Sat on the bike an soft peddled for a few minutes.
Bike
  • 20m
  • 7.25 miles
  • 21.75 mile/hr
Comments:

Not sure how this should equate to road conditions and if the resistance equates into the speed/dist calcuations but if it is accuate I feel like it was a good ride.
Transition 2
  • 05m
Comments:

Standard transition time plenty of time to get off bike, fill up water bottle ,walk up stairs, and wait for run to start.
Run
  • 15m
  • 1.96 miles
  • 07m 40s  min/mile
Comments:

I started off good for the firet 7min holding between 7-7:30 pace but started feeling it after the half way point. All things considered I was pretty happy with the run but would have like to have gone faster
Post race
Warm down:

Water, walking, and banana's

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Probably working ale fest the night before and the 40min run probably didn't help but this was just for fun and I am happy with the times.

Event comments:

Had a good time and will definately do it again. If I get any better at running and biking I might take it a little more seriously but I feel like it was a good indicator that my winter training has me on track for my goals this year.

They did have a little trouble with the results at firts but they found out what the problem was and got it corrected pretty quick.
