Run
Comments: Hands down, the worst race I've EVER had. The first two miles, I felt fantastic, we went up a small hill and my legs started screaming, thought once I got to the top, I'd be okay, but they hurt the rest of the way. And not in the "feel the burn" kind of way - they HURT. I had to stop and walk a number of times. I seriously considered stopping and walking the 5K course to the finish line, but I stuck it out. I have no idea what happened. My heart rate was sky-high the entire time too. Considering how slow I was going the last 4 miles, it had plenty of time to drop, but it stayed high the whole time. I am SO disappointed with this race, I can't put it into words. Just disgusted. What would you do differently?: ??? Not schedule a race as part of recovery week??? It's the only thing I could think of that would cause my legs to feel to incredibly horrible. Post race
Warm down: Walked around the field/stadium to warm down, and had a good mile walk to the shuttle back to the starting line. What limited your ability to perform faster: My legs! Event comments: This was a fantastically organized race. They ran a full marathon, a 5K, a 1/2 marathon, a 10K, and a 5K family walk, all this morning. I was blown away with how organized and efficiently run it was. Hands down, the most well-run race I've ever attended. They could have used one more water station on the course, but other than that, I would highly recommend this race! Last updated: 2013-01-26 12:00 AM

Nothing special, walked around a bit, and encouraged my boyfriend who ran the 5K (his first ever!). They started 1/2 hour before the 10K. Walked around a bit and hit the ladies room, which was an inside running water facility - no porta-pottie - woohoo!
A quick jog, maybe 1/2 mile total, with some high knees and butt-kickers.
