Swim
Comments: Swim went great. Got kicked in face trying to pass a slower swimmer around the 100m mark What would you do differently?: Seed myself farther towards the front to avoid having to pass other swimmers Transition 1
Comments: Transition went pretty well. What would you do differently?: Work on mounting bike faster. Practing flying mount. Bike
Comments: Could not get heart rate to come down at all. Felt uncomfortable the entire race. Heart rate averaged over 170 for first half and barely came down to 160's second half of bike. Nothing I could do could bring heart rate down below 160... What would you do differently?: Work more on bike leg Transition 2
Comments: Could have been a little faster getting socks and shoes on. What would you do differently?: Practice socks more Run
Comments: Got off bike and legs felt like liquid concrete. Energy level on the run was non-existant. Might have had a lot to do with not being able to get heart rate down on bike leg. What would you do differently?: Work more on bricks. Post race
Warm down: Walked around finish line area. Drank a water bottle and can of coke. Bought a few extras on sale What limited your ability to perform faster: I was half way through HIM training program and legs were feeling tired. Event comments: This race is a good one each year. Always has a very stiff competition but it is a good bike course that can test you. Top three finishers get a bottle of wine with race logo, always helps start a relaxing evening after the race with that. Last updated: 2013-01-31 12:00 AM
