What would you do differently?: RELAX! got way too tight in the beginning (probably because their were almost 100 guys in my wave; in tight quarters) Transition 1
Comments: just a long way to the transition exit; one of the first racks out of the water, but was not allowed to have shoes clipped into pedals and had to run (in my bike shoes) almost 100 yards...) uncomfortably. What would you do differently?: not much, it was executed well; just logistically tough. Bike
Comments: Couple tough headwinds out there (shearer rd. and again on hwy 115); otherwise, exactly what I intended. What would you do differently?: spend more time in aero Transition 2
Comments: fast and felt great; just a ways to run the bike (one of the farthest racks) What would you do differently?: nothing Run
Comments: felt sluggish coming off the bike and took a mile to warm up my legs; found an age group competitor and paced him til the end, when i passed and sprinted to the finish. Fastest 5k in a race ever; wohoo! What would you do differently?: faster out of the gates; more time stretching out quads on the bike prior to getting into T2 Post race
Warm down: c/d walk, water, half of a banana, then coke. talked to friends and packed up my stuff What limited your ability to perform faster: nothing really; PR here @ Lake Norman and hope to improve my times each year Event comments: There was a small helicopter at the swim start taking video and pics; would love to see that posted.
