Pre-race routine:

Got up at 4:30, finished packing up water, snacks, gear, headed to the park by 5am - could not eat anything as usual. Made sure to hydrate

Comments:

Lots of traffic and manatees as mike calls the breast strokers. Got kicked hard in the left triceps and now have a bruise - swam over a couple of people trying to get some open water...good swim for me considering, even smiled at photographer as I got out of the water
What would you do differently?:

not much except maybe try to start closer to the front to get away from the slower, uncomfortable swimmers

Swam hard and ran into transition so was definitely winded. Risa pulled chip off my ankle. Nice hand off to Sarah for her bike ride.
