Pre-race routine:

Got to the race waaaay early becaue I suspected parking may be an issue.
I was sorta glad though because I got a killer spot in T-1 and scoped out the swim, transition and stretched out.
Event warmup:

Went for a 10 minute spin after setting up transition.
rested on the beach for a while, then went for a quick run to just loosen up. 20 minutes beore my wave I went for a swim and practiced going thru the waves a couple times

I did okay in transition but it could've been a little faster. Having to pack your own T-1 bag I took an extra few seconds to make sure I packed everything.

I started off on a good pace, hit the hill on Grand and ran halfway, alked halfway, the got a cramp a ew minutes later. Once I shook the cramp I had a really good run!
What would you do differently?:

Drink more nad start a little slower

Course: Rectangular course with plenty of lifeguards outlining the course. There was a slight swell so the waves were sorta big, but not bad. There was also a current going in and out, but once swimming paralell to the beach is wasn't bad
