Pre-race routine:

Generation UCAN, 1/2 bagel with peanut butter and a banana. Drank the UCAN before I got out ot the car.
Event warmup:

Not much since I had to wait in a very long line to use the port a john. Kind of a painful experience and I had plenty of company.

Comments:

The UCAN kept me fueled the entire race, I only slowed down to get some water.
What would you do differently?:

I'll never bring my iPod shuffle out on a run again. It died about 30 minutes into the race. I will use my phone for now on and I bought an extended battery for it so it can handle both the music and GPS draw.

Warm down:

Did see Dr. Greenapple's folks for some ART work and they took their time with me.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Nothing.

Event comments:

The port a john and the after race activities will be the primary reason I won't do this race again. Compared to the Huntersville Half, this race just doesn't hold up. It's a shame, because it is a great course.

Performance: Good
Was well ahead of my projected pace of 9:30 miles and learned how to use my Virtual Partner. Only problem was that since I never used it before, I didn't know who was who or if I was ahead or behind.
Course: I loved this course, even with all the hills.
