Advertised as a 500m swim, it was more like 600m. Choppy. HORRIBLE swim. My 5th stroke I got a lungful (not a mouthful) of water. Could not breate had to flip on my back to catch my breath. The rest of the way I felt like I could only take 1/2 a breath.

Also had a 20m slog through mud to get out of the water

Serious wind and rolling hills. 15mph wind with gusts to 30mph. Okay bike, I was still recovering from the lousy swim. Still got 13th fastest of day.

Windy with some hills. I was out of contention and was not in a good frame of mind. HR was only mid 150s while should have been high 160s+, but just couldn't get it there

Well, I felt like it was a lousy race and still placed 25th. Great venue, great organization and I decided to see if I could do better the next day - race again!
