Comments:

This was my 5th year pacing the Cowtown 3 Hr Half.
Every year I have a great group with lots of first time runners both young and older and those folks working their way up.

Lots of stories come out of our conversations and I enjoy helping then achieve their goal.

Funny I'm either a good guy "there's the 3 Hr guy we are still good" or the bad guy "O CRAP there's the 3 Hr guy CRAP" and they speed up, either way I guess the get what they need.

What would you do differently?:

Slowed just a little more going up the mile 9 "Hill" had one minute extra I could have used to let my group recover...

I will make sure my HR chest strap is on correct before the start!
Post race
Warm down:

Strech (not enough) walk around Finish line waiting on some of my group to finish then off for home.

Event comments:

Finished the 5 year Medal series (all Medals are a section of a Star which fits into a wood plaque. FYI, next 3 year series is based on Spurs and looks really cool...

Performance: Good
HR was intermittent chest strap too loose and maybe upside down.
Course: Good course I actually like the 8-9 mile segment through the Stockyards and "looking at the hill" for a mile or so. BEAUTIFUL weather slightly warmer at the finish with a small wind but overall great.
Keeping cool Good Drinking Just right
