Run
Comments: Ran conservative Miles 1-6; increased pace miles 7-11; moderated mile 12 through a tunnel. Grabbed 4 powerbar gels at station mile 7. Used 2 of them; 1 at mile 8 and 1 at mile 11. Windy and chilly conditions, especially after mile 7 What would you do differently?: Hydrate better during lead up week. Post race
Warm down: Walked for about 5 minutes. Stretched for about 15 minutes. This stretching was critical for me as I had no post race soreness. What limited your ability to perform faster: I had a cold and asthma symptoms in the 5 days prior to racing. Went to doctor day before race and began using medrol and amoxicylin. Had a very bad cough after race. Event comments: This is an excellent race. The second half of the course is flat. My strategy to run conservatively in the beginning paid off. The finish area was very well organized and refreshments were plentiful. This was my second best half marathon out of the four that I have done to date. Last updated: 2013-02-23 12:00 AM

Ate banana and yogurt for breakfast. Ate banana right before race start.
Stretched in Corral. Used first few miles of race as warmup by running conservatively.
