Total Time = 1h 13m 35s
Overall Rank = 41/88
Age Group = women (no AG)
Age Group Rank = 5/29
Pre-race routine:

went from work. Ate a Harvest bar on the way.
Event warmup:

10 minutes jogging, a few windsprints, and 10 minutes swimming.
Swim
  • 08m 41s
  • 400 yards
  • 02m 10s / 100 yards
Comments:

Really, it was a pretty easy swim. I started more in the middle this time (compared to Mystic). I did get knocked more, but I also got "pulled" more, especially on the way out.

I was the second woman out of the water, behind only my Master's partner Lauren.
What would you do differently?:

I think I swam this well for where I am, but I would have drafted better, especially on the way back.
Transition 1
  • 00m
Comments:

I was wobbly in T1 after the swim. I fussed around too much. Also, had trouble clipping in after the long run to where we could get on.

Transition times are not broken down
What would you do differently?:

I'd think about timing the transition
Bike
  • 36m 19s
  • 12 miles
  • 19.82 mile/hr
Comments:

I felt pretty good on the bike. I still could have been stronger on the hills, but I have my moments. None of it was killer, for sure.

Transition 2
  • 00m
Comments:

This transition was better than the first. I meant to put my shirt on, but I was fine without it.

Not calculated
Run
  • 28m 35s
  • 3.2 miles
  • 08m 56s  min/mile
Comments:

First part of the run was tough. I had a side stitch and my chest hurt. I felt much better after about 2 miles, but I'd already been passed by quite a few people by then.
What would you do differently?:

I'd cowgirl up, open up my stride a little, and just push through those first couple of miles.
Post race
Event comments:

They did a great job in organizing the race as a small, low-key affair. The courses were well marked and the crew kept things running smoothly. It went off on time and the awards ceremony was quick and prompt, but fun. Plus, it was only $15. Can't beat that with a stick.
