Pre-race routine:

Didn't really have a routine planned. Just taking in the atmosphere. went for a slow swim prior to event. Just to get a fell for the water and the wet suit.

First Tri event and even though I had read and heard about the nudging and kicking, it still took me by surprise and slowed me down. Every time i got into a rhythm, I was kicked, shoved etc. forcing me to stop.

Stay up front and go hard.

take an extra 10 seconds in T2 to take on board fluid. run harder

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Wasn't quite sure how to pace the whole race. Had set my sights on 3 hrs flat and finished in 3:04 so happy with the outcome. Should have cranked it up another notch, but as I said, didn't quite know what to expect.

Event comments:

Great race. lots of volunteers and spectators. Scenic course and a great way to get introduced to Triathlons.
