Pre-race routine:

Had a hard time parking and finding my way around so only had time for a 4 min warmup jog. Never did this race, so I wanted to hear the course announcements.

Did not push it too hard for the first run. I have a 20 miler tomorrow and did not want to mess that up now.
What would you do differently?:

Start closer to the front. I think they do gun time, so gave away probably 30 seconds in the start gate

I pushed pretty had, but wanted to do more on a 10 mile course. Even without biking lately, I was hoping to average at least over 200 watts. There were a few times I had to break for dog walkers crossing when they felt like it. It made me nostalgic for when this was mine and Charlie's park. I would have brought him if there was someone to watch him during the race :-)
What would you do differently?:

Eh... I did fine and it was a beautiful morning. This might of been my fastest bike leg, short or not.

I pushed it harder on the second run. I shouldn't negative split a duathlon, but I did a poor warmup for the first and felt more like a "racer" on the second. I kept seeing people who passed me on the bike and I wanted to pass them back.

Event comments:

This is a fine race. But I probably wont do it next year, unless I have another reason to be in Brooklyn. its an hour and a half each way and I think the tolls and gas cost me $30. The bridge tolls have gotten out of control.
