Run
Comments: Started off pretty conservative and wanted to see how I felt. I ran the 1st Mile 8:02 (with the crowds I was ok with this). Feeling fine and relaxed I knew that I could pick it up and if I was going to run a 1:42 this pace wasn't going to cut it. I picked up the pace and settled in very nicely with splits from 7:49-7:51. My goal was do definitly negative split it was just a matter of when to pick up the pace to get there. I waited until Mile 8 because I knew given the lack of miles in the past few months I would be able to go much sooner. Mile 8-13 I was running 7:39-7:41 and this was my threshold. I ran this race just how I planned and it worked out perfectly. If it was a 14 mile race I would have been toast the last mile, but I hit it perfectly. I am pleased. Next time I will start the "upkick" a couple miles earlier and get under that 1:40 mark. What would you do differently?: NOT A GOSH DARN THING!!!! What a pretty day! Post race
Warm down: Walked another 13.1 miles looking for Kyla, and talking with friend. Then HURRIED OFF TO WATCH MY SISTER IN LAW MARRY MY GOOD GOOD FRIEND RP!!! What limited your ability to perform faster: Lack of Miles..... Pace was good, and spot on what I thought it was capable of... Event comments: Great race, pre and post race festivites and sponsors were great!! The snake in the parking lot FINISH sucked DONKEY BALLS!! Last updated: 2013-03-13 12:00 AM

Hurried Like Hell to get to the race and then we WAITED, and WAITED and WAITED some more.
I had a great conversation with myself because Kyla walked out right in the middle of my story
A jog to the porta potty and back, then back to sit in the car...
