Comments: Out and back run. First mile was with the wind and downhill. Water station available at the turn around. Second mile was uphill against the wind. What would you do differently?: Nothing Transition 1
Comments: Took my time here. I was pretty tired from the first two miles of running. I wish I had brought an extra gel to consume at this point. What would you do differently?: Bring and consume an extra gel. Bike
Comments: Nice hilly course using a variety of gear changes. What would you do differently?: Nothing Transition 2
Comments: Consumed much needed gel at this point followed by ice water. What would you do differently?: Nothing Run
Comments: I took a slower pace on purpose, afraid that I would burn out before the end. I actually had quite a bit of enery at the end. What would you do differently?: Pace myself a little faster. Post race
Warm down: Walked around and talked to familiar people. Cheered my 15 year old daughter over the line, then joined my husband to wait for the race to finish. What limited your ability to perform faster: Not enough energy for the bike portion. I need to bring a gel for both transitions. Event comments: There was a fork in the bike path that was not marked. Ate two pieces of taost and a banana. Somewhat nervous for this race due to my poor performace on the run in 70.3 Florida.
