Run
Comments: Decided on the way to the event that I should be able to do a 7:15 pace, so I was happy with 6:55. Started pretty quick with the lead group and slowed down after about a mile. Transition 1
Comments: Screwed around trying to put on gloves, but after fumbling with them for a bit decided to skip it. Then forgot to throw on my helmet. The gloves were a last minute thought before the race, so just threw me off I guess. Bike
Comments: I was happy overall. Passed a few people and got passed by a few people. Transition 2
Comments: Went well enough Run
Comments: Felt fresh off the bike. Plan for this portion was 7:30 pace, so this was great. About a hundred feet to the finish I heard foot steps coming from behind, so had to pick it up for a bit and just barely beat the guy. Fun way to finish. Post race
Warm down: Grabbed a beer and walked around for a bit. What limited your ability to perform faster: I didn't train for this distance, so if I specialize a bit more I can probably do better. Since I came close to placing, I may focus on it a bit more next year. Event comments: For me this was a fantastic race. The distance and terrain is perfect for my training levels. Long enough where it wasn't an all out sprint, but short enough I was able to push the whole time. The post race stuff was great. Pizza, tacos, beer, music, and good friends.
