Swim
What would you do differently?: This was very crazy. I never could get into a rhythm in a freestyle. I did the brest stroke & back stroke when i got tired. I thought swimming would be my best event, yet this was a definite weak spot. Transition 1
Comments: I seem to move very slow. My heart rate was extremely fast & could barely catch my breath from the swim. What would you do differently?: Have a better swim. Bike
Comments: I got cold during the bike portion. I started to calm down around mile 5, just before the Nance Rd hill. After walking up that I actually caught my breath. I didn't drink any water till I hit Hwy 41. I did better on the bike than I thought I would and never expected to be so of breath from the swim. What would you do differently?: Actually spend $ on a TRI suit. Work on hills more. Transition 2
Comments: I stopped right on the dismount line. I need to work on the dismount. Run
Comments: My son joined me on the last mile. It was a great feeling! What would you do differently?: See if I can get my time up. I typically walk 15 min miles.... I need to get my time up. Post race
Warm down: stretched. My run was actually a walk, so I used that as part of the cool-down. When I had finished my heart rate was back to normal. I just stretched. What limited your ability to perform faster: the swim. Event comments: I am so glad I particpated in this race. I met a lot of nice women who encourgaged me along the way. I'm not sure how to get the times for the indiviual events. My overall time was 2hrs & 44 min. I was told I won an award for donations. I'll have to figure out how to get that. I need more work for the next tri. Last updated: 2006-06-19 12:00 AM
