Swim
Comments: went pretty well. the masters classes i have been taking seemed to pay off. i passed a large group of swimmers about half way through and a few held on to my feet and drafted the rest of the way. What would you do differently?: nothing, maybe push a little harder. i took the swim fairly easy Transition 1
Comments: 30% faster than last race. Good to see its getting faster. What would you do differently?: nothing, learn to ride/run without socks to save a lot more time. Bike
Comments: the bike went pretty well. the new power meter kind of let me know when i was pushing too hard so a lot of it i felt i was holding back from what i would normally have done... but this turned out to help immensely later. What would you do differently?: nothing, maybe have changed lenses in my glasses. the bike course was thick fog and the darker lense tint made it hard to see. i was passing faint silhouettes the whole time. Transition 2
Comments: felt like this went pretty smoothly. i fumbled a bit getting my helmet off. What would you do differently?: nothing, learn to run faster while putting on my watch/number belt Run
Comments: Best run split i have had to date. Holding back a bit on the bike portion probably had a lot to do with it. The run hurt a lot though.. a lot.. What would you do differently?: Nothing Post race
Warm down: grabbed a coke and few nutrigrain/chocolate bars. got a massage/trigger release session which helped get rid of a knot i've had since may. should probably have done something about it sooner..... What limited your ability to perform faster: clumsy transitions, and poor lense selection for the weather conditions for the start of the race. i wasted a good 10-15 seconds getting my helmet on in T1. Event comments: Great race once again this year. There were two water stations you passed through twice on the run, which is unreal for a sprint course. The pool swim was very smooth and non chaotic due to the large lanes and one way traffic. The bike course was nice and rolling on mainly smooth roads with tons of volunteers at every turn. The run course is a bit sketchy with the service road, but it gets better every year as the dirt settles/hardens. Overall a great race and i won't hesitate to do it again.
