Run
Comments: Good run. Started right near the front, but could have been a little closer. Had to pass a handful of folks, but not nearly as bad as last year when I started back in the middle of the pack. I was passed by a few, but passed most of them back later. Despite data above, I'm pretty sure I had very even splits. Raw Garmin data agrees. What would you do differently?: Not much. The last turn actually came up a little faster than I expected. A nice change! Post race
Warm down: Jogged back in reverse to meet with Christina and jog back in with her. She did fantastic! Her first race ever! Her goal was to break 45 minutes, and she jogged/walked it in 41:32 - despite fighting lingering bronchitis! What limited your ability to perform faster: Too much biking in July! :-) Event comments: Excellent race, as always. Even bigger this year than last - by a thousand or so!?!?! Despite them losing my registration info, I was really impressed and pleased! I can't imagine the logistics of getting 4k + runners through the system! Plus, they had a back up plan for my lost registration, and executed it well. I showed up in the results online jsut a few hours later. Technology is amazing, eh? Excellent race, and a new APR for me (Adult PR) Pretty sure I did 5k's quicker back in HS, but don't have proof anywhere. Last updated: 2006-06-19 12:00 AM

Evening race, so met Christina at work, and we walked to meet the folks at Deka. Got (some) of our stuff and walked up to the park. For some reason, they didn't have my stuff ready yesterday when Clint went to pick it all up. It still wasn't there when I went to get it before the race, so i filled out a new app and got a new chip/number 15 minutes before the race. All OK.
Jogged up and down Mechanic street next to the Y a couple of time to get loosened up. Did a couple short bursts...
