Swim
Comments: Due to the staggered start, was by far most comfortable swim in all triathlons I've participated in. What would you do differently?: Run when getting out of the water. Today was just about finishing so was just taking it easy. Transition 1
Comments: Took my time, getting to transition. Long way from water to transition area. Took some time putting on long sleeve shirt. What would you do differently?: Pick up the pace. Bike
Comments: Shoulders/neck was hurting, then lower back after the 45k mark. Kept moving around on the bike, to re-leave strain. Was even riding no handed for extended periods just to get comfortable. Need to invest in a real tri bike and get a proper fitting. When I started this I didn't know if I'd stick with it so didn't want to invest to much money. What would you do differently?: Actually ride my bike outside during training. This season only road the bike during races, which really cost me in feeling comfortable. Transition 2
Comments: No running, No jumping, just took my time and racked bike. Changed socks due to them being soaked through from the rain. Ran back and removed long sleeve shirt for the run. Saw the family and made a couple jokes with them while transitioning. What would you do differently?: Nothing considering goal of the day. Run
Comments: Couldn't get started running. Then just settled in to a run/walk from cone to cone, driveway to driveway. What would you do differently?: Train for the event. Post race
Warm down: Met up with family after crossing finish line. Got picture taken, packed up gear and headed out. What limited your ability to perform faster: Lack of training, goal. Event comments: There were a couple girl volunteers at the farthest aid station that just didn't want to be there. Comments like when will they come pick us up so I can go home. And this was on my first loop, when I know I've got another 1.5 hours to go. Other than that everyone was great. Was originally disappointed with the swim course change but after actually finishing the swim, it was great. I really enjoyed the staggered swim start made for a very comfortable swim, almost no contact with other swimmers. Last updated: 2013-04-14 12:00 AM

Woke-up before alarm, loaded gear and headed out. Eat bagel on drive, arrived early. Checked water conditions noticed they had pulled the buoy's into the harbor. Setup transition, did body marking, used the restrooms. Sat in car for a couple minutes to go visualize transitions.
Saw everyone gathering for the swim, put wet suit on and headed to the swim start to get directions on course change. Missed the announcement but got the idea. Keep the dock to the right and buoy's to the left, double loop. Didn't get a chance to get in the water.
