Swim
Comments: This was my first circle swim in my life. They had four heats and I was in the last heat. First time in a collegiat pool with the bridge seperating the warm up are from the actual swim lanes. My first lap down I almost ran straight into the wall because it does not go all the way to the bottum. Whew that was close, would have been bad if I got knocked out in my first lap of my first swim in my first Triathlon. It was a little crazy, I had to stop a couple of times because I got pinned to the wall by a slower person. But all in all it wasn't bad for my first swim like this. What would you do differently?: Enter a more accurate time of how fast I could do the swim. This I hope would make it so I was swimming with more people my speed. Yeti slow!! Transition 1
Comments: I had to wear a compression top because I'm Yeti shy!! No one wanted to see my gut so I wore the top and pulled it off when I got to my bag of junk. I put on socks and sneaks, Mesh shirt, and warm up shirt. I was not sure how could I would be on the bike. What would you do differently?: Run after getting out of the pool. I was just happy to survive. Bike
Comments: Well i was pissed about my performance here. I used my Mt. Bike for this race, but trained on my tri bike the whole winter. I didn't want to brake components of my tri bike because of my Yeti size. I knew the rims would not hold up, and they didn't on my first ride outside this year. I tweaked the rim and ripped it up with the brake pads. Enough about that. Just not good. What would you do differently?: Ride my Tri Bike with good rims. Ride more outside. I rode the trainer all winter and thought I would rock the bike. Trainer does not equal real world out on the road. That was very evident. Transition 2
Comments: I rocked this no time, took my lid off and started running. Run
Comments: Well Yeti's don't run very good. We hide. I did the best I could on this day. I walked allot because it was my first run outside since last fall. Running on the tread mill is not running outside. What would you do differently?: Start running outside sooner. I ran to my ability. Post race
Warm down: Well I got to the finish line and everything was taken down except the finish mat to record the time. The guy there just said give me your chip and i did. They were handing out all the awards, and didn't know what to do so I just grabbed my junk and left. I'm still not sure if i was suppose to do anything once I finished. Get a certificate or something? No idea, but it was fun even if no one saw me finish. What limited your ability to perform faster: I was sick for ten days before this race, not sure this played into it. I had a head and chest cold. I thought I was training pretty good, but now I'm not so sure. I will have to reasses what I'm doing. I have not been training for short coarse. I'm a yeti I'm not gonna win anything. Event comments: This was a nice race, plenty of volunteers, and the people who answered questions seemed to be real nice. I'm slow so the end of the race for me kinda stunk, because there was no one there to tell me what to do. I'm a newb I didn't know what to do other than leave. Last updated: 2013-04-14 12:00 AM

Well I didn't have much of a routine. I got up and had a glass of chocolate milk and some oatmeal. Couldn't eat much of the oatmeal, I felt like puking. I was scared to death to do this race. I did not have anybody who was going to go with me or watch me. Luckily I ran into one of the guys I swim with and he was racing. This made it a little better. Still didn't have a clue.
