Swim
Comments: Haven't been training swimming as hard as I should be, but overall I thought the swim went well for me. I kept swimming off to the right on the way for the first turn and was having a little difficulty getting my breathing under control. After the first turn I got into a rythym and had a nice swim to the finish. I had to kind of make a calculated guess on my swim time and T1-the swim time line must not have picked my chip up, they had my swim time at a little over an hour, but my overall time was right with my watch. So I just backed off my other times and went with the swim time I had on my watch. What would you do differently?: Train more and smarter Transition 1
Comments: Long way to my transition area, I didn't have trouble with the wetsuit. I wear bike shorts and had a little trouble getting them on and for some reason my socks were being a pain in the ass. What would you do differently?: go faster Bike
Comments: I was very happy with my bike Transition 2
Comments: a hell of long way to the bike rack, I walked the whole way- was trying to save a little extra for the run What would you do differently?: nothing really-walk faster? Run
Comments: I was disappointed with my run, wanted to average right at or a little under 11:00 min., my left calf felt weird for the first mile but after that it was okay and then my right quad start cramping had to walk up about half a hill. The last mile even though my energy level was good my quad kept threatening to cramp. What would you do differently?: Not really sure what was with the cramps, I was well hydrated going into the race, probably should have drank more on the bike. Post race
Warm down: ate a banana and bottle of water, walked over to transition area to get my bike What limited your ability to perform faster: Need to lose more weight-train for the swim better, drink more on the course Event comments: A good race, overall I was happy with my effort. Just need to keep taking weight off and training Last updated: 2013-04-15 12:00 AM

Couldn't sleep, not nerves-every now and then I go through little bouts of insomnia. Finally got out of bed at about 4:30 am, screwed around until 5:30 took the labs for about a mile walk. About 6:00 drank some coffee and had whole wheat toast w/ peanut butter. Finally left for the race about 7:30.
Stretched a little, getting into my wetsuit is a workout in itself.
