Pre-race routine:

Fully loaded with Race Day Boost for 4 days prior. Woke at 4:45, aquaphored everything, got dressed. Had coffee on way to metro, and banana on Metro, another while waiting at the start village. Took 1 Alleve, 4 anti-fatigue caps, and 1 endurolyte about an hour before start. Took powerbar gel with caffeine 20 min before start, and 5 drops creatine 15 min before. Met Tom in the start corral.
Event warmup:

light stretching, sat in tent about half hour, stood in porta-potty line about 20 min. Did my patented pee in a gatorade bottle under my black trashbag while in the corral.

Comments:

Uphills in the beginning were very tough. HR elevated way more than I wanted, but I wanted tostick with Tom at least for the first 10 miles. I was actually ahead of him a couple miles, but I like using the downhills to speed up and maintain effort, while he maintains pace. Took another gel at 7, 14, and 20. Took another Alleve at 10, and 20. Took another 3 anti-fatigue caps and5 enduralytes throughout the race. Ran with gatorade bottle with 2 drops of creatine in it. Took Gatorade endurance from the water stops at least 6 times early, then 2 to 4 cups of water each stop the last 6 miles. refilled my gatorade bottle with 4 cups of gatorade endurance at one of the stops.
For some reason my HR spiked unreasonably high between 12 & 16. Planned .05m walk stops at 5,10,14,18,20,22,24. Did 5,10&14. Purposely walked extra at 16 to get it back in control. About that time, for rest of race, the bottom of my feet hurt with every strike. Never happened before. Walked a little every mile from there. Legs were hurting starting from 16 too. Starting at 20 for the rest of the race, hamstrings and calves were getting cramping twinges. Never locked up, but knew I would do a lot of damage if they did, so purposely ran slower because of that. Was feeling real thirstly around then too, even though drinking lots of gatorade (humidity was pretty low). From then on out, took in lots of water each stop. Met Linnea and the boys at 22.5 in Crystal City and gave them my arm warmers and empty gatorade bottle. Kept gloves on.
What would you do differently?:

Don't try to PR in your 4th marathon in 36 days!!
Post race
Warm down:

Met Linnea and the boys after they arrived at the finish area from the Arlington Cemetary Metro stop. Sticked my legs, ate protein bar. Drank gatorade 3 with Protein they handed out.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

4th maratohn in 36 days. Foot pain from 16, leg cramping twinges last 6 miles. Hills!

Event comments:

Started 5 min late for some reason, wheelchairs started when we were supposed to, but not enough time between runners and chairs, got a little dangerous. A lot of wheelchairs.
