Pre-race routine:

Spent the night in Largo at Holiday Inn Express on Seminole
Had dinner at Cooters-Oysters on the half shell, shrimp and crab cheesy dip with garlic bread and a ceasar salad with grilled shrimp. Lots of bread too. Also had Coldstone.
Went to bed around 10:15, up at 4:55....took my time getting ready. Left room at 5:30. am, had whole wheat toast with banana and PB. Left hotel at 5:37. Drank a little gatorade. Found a place to park and sat in truck for about 20-25 minutes.

Event warmup:

DId a little stretching at the truck and while waiting in the chute.

Comments:

Felt really good most of the race. Fueled well with chomps and a girl scout cookie :)
Drank a little at every water station. Annnnd, had a wonderful husband who met me with ICE COLD water several times. Drank the water and dumped the ice in my running bra!
What would you do differently?:

As usual, try to start a little slower the first few miles. I was really spent about mile 11.5 when we turned straight into the wind.
Post race
Warm down:

Not really much....walked around a little. Went to the truck and changed shirts and shoes. Had a few pancakes and drank a little water and gatorade.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Stared off a little to fast.

Event comments:

The pancake bar was obliterated by the 5k runners.
The restroom situation pre-race was not as good as in years past.
Lots of volunteers along the course and at water stations. One of my favorite races.

Course: Enjoyed the course. Two bridges, Sand Key Park, and an out and back turn around. Didn't do the park on the way back, but did the bridges twice. Enjoyed the course. Lots of spectators and encouragers.
