Pre-race routine:

Wave was later in the day (2:30) so helped with a garage sale. Had coffee and eggos in the morning but stuck to chicken/rice/peas for lunch. No pop/coffee after 10am (trying to reduce the peeing closer to race times)

Event warmup:

Got set up, then got in line for the outdoor pool swim which was about 20 mins.

Decided to hammer on the bike a bit more than usual and see what happened. I think this was 2 mins or so faster than last year but with wind it's hard to tell.

I was 3-4 seconds off of last years time, but I biked a lot harder and had to stop for 20 seconds because of a super bad chest stitch.

What would you do differently?:

Maybe not start quite so hard.

Warm down:

Pancakes, water, some coffee - watched the friends finish.


What limited your ability to perform faster:

No swim/bike this year as it's been a marathon year. Next year will be back to tri focus.

Event comments:

Great race, nice to do a pool swim and not need a wetsuit. Short enough that you can really hammer and see how you're doing.
