Comments: This time I only had to pass 2 swimmers that had cheated on their swim time. Cleaned my goggles with SPIT the night before which worked nice. Could clearly see under water. What would you do differently?: Don't forget to use the legs. Do more swim training as I have to be able to go faster or recuperate faster. Transition 1
Comments: Still tired from swimming. Lost valuable time when I couldn't fasten my helmet. Used caveman socks from last year and they went on faster than last year. What would you do differently?: Losing a minute on most other competitors. Have to train the transitioning Bike
Comments: Cadense above 80 as planned. Heartrate was around 155 and above. Higher than I hoped for. What would you do differently?: More speed training. Trained mainly to finish a 100 miles bike race in two weeks. Transition 2
Comments: I was one of the last in my rack. No problems. Only 20 seconds behind the fastes changers What would you do differently?: Not forget to take of my cycling gloves Run
Comments: It didn't go as well as I had hoped. My fingers were tinteling in the beginning. Heart rate was high. So I took it easy on the first mile and then slowly went faster. My left calf was hard as a rock. What would you do differently?: Train more on running Post race
Warm down: Massage on left calf What limited your ability to perform faster: left calf bothered me too much during the run. Event comments: This is a fun event. Lining up in the gym before the swim was a huge improvement over last year. The new run course is nice and more difficult than last year. I'll participate again next year. Bicycle racks are numbered. Organization makes sure the bikes are in the correct rack. Otherwise you will be asked to re-rack. Nothing special routine. Just rolled up socks. Sunglasses in helmet.
Losening up the muscles before the start. There is an option to pre-swim but I don't like that.
