Swim
Comments: My swim would have been much better, but I stopped in the middle to help a 9 year old girl who was panicking. She had started before me, and she was hyperventilating, and I couldn't just leave her. So, I waded next to her for a bit, getting her to float on her back, until she said that she was OK. I was worried to leave her, but I saw that the lifeguards on the kayaks were watching her pretty closely. She completed the swim and the rest of the race...pretty awesome for 9 years old! What would you do differently?: Nothing Transition 1
Comments: It was at least .2 miles from the swim exit to transition, so that's where most of my time was spent. Otherwise transition went well. What would you do differently?: Nothing...well, maybe try to run a bit faster between the river and transition. Bike
Comments: It was a pretty boring course, but also pretty flat. I hadn't been on my bike on the road since Austin in October of last year, so I was pretty happy with my performance. My butt was burning by the time I got back. What would you do differently?: Train on my bike. Transition 2
Comments: Pretty good transition What would you do differently?: Nothing Run
Comments: I had a pretty good run. On one of the grueling uphills I notice my pace was over 10min/miles, so on the way in I was pushing almost 7 min/miles to make up for it. What would you do differently?: Nothing Post race
Warm down: Not much What limited your ability to perform faster: Lack of training recently. Event comments: Team Magic always puts on a great race!!! I stuck around for the awards ceremony, because I knew I was the 5th OA female, so I would place in my age group. It wasn't until they did the awards and my name was called as the 2nd OA masters female did I realize that I am now in the masters division. I'm still 39!!! Oy! Last updated: 2013-04-25 12:00 AM
