Pre-race routine:

Heart Start Healthy Heart and a banana. Cup of coffee and alot of Gatorade and Amino Build (which makes me pee wayyyy too much)
Event warmup:

Just kinda walked around. It was starting to rain pre race and scheduled to get worse quickly, so we knew it was going to be interesting conditions. Peed 3 times, then had to go like a race horse while in the corral.

Comments:

Found out I was running 22 hours before the gun fired as a friend bailed due to the rain forecast (thus the Female 40-44 age group). Since I was not really in the mood to try to PR, I called Jen Wolczyk to see if she wanted a pacer for her sub 2 hour goal, she was thrilled. This allowed me to really enjoy the course, the race, the everything becasue this was a very conversational pace for me. My biggest concern was blowing up and having her think I was a dope. This is the first timne I have ever paced anybody for a race, so there was alot of pressure to be good at it.
What would you do differently?:

I think we paced the course perfectly.

If anything, maybe lie a bit about our finish times as we started in corral 11 and basically passed 8,000 people, so that was kind of annoying. I think saying 1:50 would have put us in a better spot to not have to add so much distance running around people.

Also, no more Amino Build. Stuff is awesome, but it makes me pee too much. First almost 5 mile were pretty uncomfy as I had to go so bad the entire time.
Post race
Warm down:

Stopped running at finish line and the 48 degree, pouring rain weather took care of the warm down real quick!!!!

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Nothing, we did exaclty what we came to do.

Event comments:

Overall this was alot of fun. I really enjoyed pacing somebody at this pace because it was a very relaxed run for me. The weather kinda sucked, but if it was not for the weather I would not have run it. All the weaving and bobbing and crowds made the course .17 long, but even at that we were well under 2.

Course: Pretty hilly, but very scenic through various parts of downtown Nashville I had never been. Was nice to have a tour guide and to be running at a very conversational pace where I could enjoy the course and the spectators, etc...
