Run
Comments: FIRST 3 MILES WERE AT A GREAT PACE FOR ME. 9 MIN. MILES WERE GOING GREAT, WHICH IS RARE FOR ME. USUALLY, I GO OUT OF THE BLOCKS WAY TOO FAST, AND BURN MYSELF OUT. I WAS HAVING A REALLY GOOD, AND SURPRISING RUN UNTIL I FINISHED MILE 9...AND THEN THE BOTTOM FELL OUT. THE LACK OF TRAINING I HAD DONE FOR THE RACE FINALLY CAUGHT UP WITH ME. I ENDED UP WALKING HALF OF THE LAST 3 MILES...MAYBE MORE. What would you do differently?: DON'T TAKE YOUR TRAINING FOR GRANTED. MAINTAIN OR LOSE IT!!! REMEMBER TO KEEP SOME FOOD WITH YOU. I WAS IN TRI MODE, NOT RUNNING MODE, AND I DIDN'T BRING ANYTHING WITH ME. THIS ALSO CONTRIBUTED TO ME IMPLODING AFTER MILE 9. Post race
What limited your ability to perform faster: LACK OF TRAINING AND LACK OF KEEPING FUELED. Event comments: IMPRESSED WITH STAFF AND VOLUNTEERS. THE WEATHER WAS CRAZY AND MANY PLACES ON THE COURSE FLOODED. THEY DID A GREAT JOB IMPROVISING AND TRANSITIONING THROUGH THE CHALLENGES. Last updated: 2013-05-01 12:00 AM
