Pre-race routine:

Eat my normal pre race meal and water and got the car loaded up and made sure I had everything. Got to the park and setup my transition area and tried to stay warm.
Event warmup:

I did a short run around the beach pool they have there few laps.
Run
  • 23m 8s
  • 3 miles
  • 07m 43s  min/mile
Comments:

It was not my best run, but I tried not to go to hard with the wind in my face most of the time.
What would you do differently?:

Run more, esp. while windy.
Transition 1
  • 00m 36s
Comments:

went good, I kinda stopped for a second when getting my shoes on that ate some time up, but went alright. had trouble getting my feet into the bike shoes while getting up to speed.
What would you do differently?:

I normally don't wear socks racing and that kinda hurt me, but It was a must for the weather.
Bike
  • 39m 15s
  • 14 miles
  • 21.40 mile/hr
Comments:

the only think i though about was the wind and not blowing off the road. I probably could of had a better race without the race wheels this time. I also had some one drafting me 3/4 of the time which sucks when it helps them with the wind and not you.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing much, the weather was the problem then.
Transition 2
  • 00m 44s
Comments:

It was good, but I was down the row with the teams and they blocked everything so it was hard to get around them to rack my bike. That ate up a lot of time, probably 10+ seconds.
What would you do differently?:

Rack far from teams!
Run
  • 20m 15s
  • 2.5 miles
  • 08m 06s  min/mile
Comments:

It was good, not my best but I got done with it.
What would you do differently?:

I need to run more in windy conditions
Post race
Warm down:

Hung with my family and ate some hot dogs from gear west and waited for the results and awards in the pea size hail haha

What limited your ability to perform faster:

the wind for sure did, and I could always work more on my running and biking but I think the weather had a big factor for everyone there.

Event comments:

I really enjoyed the race and thought it was a nice place to race. I will do this one again.
