Swim
Comments: I got kicked a lot. This was my first run-in swim start, but I think I did ok. I had hoped to be under 36 minutes, but it was fine. What would you do differently?: swim straight and learn to sight better. Transition 1
Comments: T1 was fine. I never usually care what my time is. Bike
Comments: Well, I had TWO FLATS!! I was feeling really good on the bike until I noticed flat #1 in the town and then flat #2 right before the last killer hills. I had to wait for race support for one of the times because my front replacement tube valve was faulty. That cost me about 45 minutes total. What would you do differently?: Not get flats. Transition 2
Run
Comments: The run felt pretty good. I had a bloody foot at the end, but that's all. I enjoyed the run for the most part. I'm not a fast runner, so this is about what I thought I'd do. What would you do differently?: Be a fast runner. Post race
Warm down: I got a post-race massage and had an egg/spinach omelet. The kids, husband, and I walked around the village a bit and let the kids play on the equipment near the top of the village. What limited your ability to perform faster: flat tires. Event comments: This is a fabulous race. It was my first WTC race and they do an amazing job. The town and volunteers were wonderful. I'd definitely return. We had a very positive experience. Last updated: 2013-05-21 12:00 AM

I got up and had oatmeal, granola and a banana with gatorade and water around 4:00. I peed a lot and then went down to transition right at 5:00. I set up my stuff and then took the gondola back up to my hotel (Le Sommet des Neiges--awesome place to stay!) so that I could use a real bathroom.
I did a short swim to get used to the water. It was cold but not horrible. I have a sleeveless wetsuit, so my arms were a little cold.
