Comments:

Fairly easy swim. I was able to stay out of the main pack and swim mostly by myself, which was nice.
What would you do differently?:

Run faster from the water to T1

Had issues with my socks this time, so T1 took a bit more time than I'd like. Got some Altra 3-Sums since the last race, so the shoes were a lot easier to get on.
What would you do differently?:

Maybe try the shoes without socks. I'll have to experiment with that for the next time.

Comments:

The course was described as flat.. not flat at all. The state park roads and country roads heading into Oxford are very hilly. One of the roads we had to ride on was painfully bumpy - it seemed more like a gravel road than a paved road.
What would you do differently?:

Since my last race I got a Giant Avail road bike, so I felt much more confident on the bike this time around. I just need to ride more.

The sprint down the trail at the end was kind of tough on the knees.

Run faster.

Warm down:

Walked around to cool down. Ate a cookie, drank a bottle of water.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Race insomnia. I only got 4 hours of sleep the night before, but I didn't really feel tired at race time. Just need to do some BRICKs in training.

Event comments:

It was a small race so they didn't have an awards ceremony, just handed out awards as your name popped up on the results list. I ended up getting a 2nd place medal in Athena, but today when the official results were posted they had me down as 3rd place. I still feel good about my time, it just seems weird that they'd hand out medals then update stuff later. But I'm still new at this.. so maybe that's normal :)
