Pre-race routine:

2 cups of coffee, PBJ Toast and water. Low key morning at home with Krissie and Rich. Drove into BTV and parked at on-track lot. got there a few minutes before 7 and still plenty of parking. couldn't use elite bathrooms so went to new public rr in lot near echo.
Event warmup:

walked up battery st and tried to stay warm and dry.

Went out too fast and paid for it in the last 6-8 miles. Once I hit the top of battery just couldn't hold the pace running into the wind. mark aiken pulled away. 3:15 pace group passed me in the staniford neighborhood. couldn't get back below 8min pace but was able to get under 3:20.
What would you do differently?:

start slower.

Warm down:

krissie and Rich were waiting at the finish with dry clothes. had chocolate milk and water. walked a little but left pretty quick as it was cold and crowd was huge
