Comments: terrible. Started out hungry, so had some mild cramping in calves in first km; fortunately a random stranger gave me a fruit bar (thank you, random stranger!!!), which helped. Took it easy for most of the race and really picked it up in the last km. Finished with tons of energy, and wanted a do-over to fix the many mistakes that I made. What would you do differently?: eat something an hour or two before the start; push the pace harder from the outset instead of waiting for the last section; be mentally tougher about the whole thing. Post race
Warm down: walk back to car; eat delicious finish zone yogurt. What limited your ability to perform faster: Hungry, tired legs, general mental weakness. Event comments: weird placement of the water stations (at kms 4, 7, and 9) - the last one especially made NO sense to me. Last updated: 2013-05-27 12:00 AM
