Comments: Due to there being 2 transitions, you needed to pack all your swim gear into a bag. This caused some delay as it was tough getting the wetsuit into the bag with the other gear. Bike
Comments: Held back on the bike to prepare for the run. Felt really good on the bike. Some positioning adjustments seemed to really help What would you do differently?: Push harder. Was a little too conservative. Transition 2
Comments: Failed to have shoelaces properly adjusted. This required more time to get them set for the run. Could have had a quicker T2 time. What would you do differently?: Prepare shoes better. Run
Comments: Felt great on the run. Did the run segment 3 minutes faster than last year. Post race
What limited your ability to perform faster: Failure to push myself harder. Held too much back. Event comments: Great local event. Race Director - Trudy Wakeman - does a fantastic job. 4am wakeup. Breakfast of PB&J, Banana, and a small cup of coffee. Load up the car and leave the house at 4:45am for the 8 minute drive the start. (Love local races!)
Set up both transition areas, get body-marked, make my way to the start...... and wait. First wave goes off at 6:30am, my start is at 6:41am.
Stretching and relaxing. Got a decent warm-up on the bike ride to the start area from the parking lot and T2 location.
