Swim
Comments: I was the next to last person out of the water. I had high expectations for a better open water performance. I have really improved my swim in the pool. I can swim for over an hour covering more than 1.5 miles. Is it the wetsuit? Is it mental? What would you do differently?: Everything. Find a solution. Transition 1
Comments: Nothing major to say. A small distance to cover out of the water. I felt good and eager to get on the bike. What would you do differently?: Nothing that I can think of. Bike
Comments: I tried to be smart about pace. I pushed, but was aware to save some for the run. What would you do differently?: Drink or eat different as I had some stomach discomfort off the bike. Transition 2
Comments: Dismount and run through grass. No problem. Took a bit more time to get foot/ankle brace on that I had been running with. What would you do differently?: Get speed laces. Run
Comments: Felt like I kept a steady pace. Could not tell as miles were not well marked. Some stomach discomfort at the start. Only took in water. As on the bike, just kept picking off the runners in front of me. What would you do differently?: Speedlaces as I felt like my one shoe was not laced well. Post race
Warm down: walking What limited your ability to perform faster: SWIM! Event comments: I would do this race again. It was well supported. Seemed to have many very competitive athletes particularly in the Olympic. Last updated: 2013-06-02 12:00 AM

I arrived at 7:00 AM. It appeared that registration was just beginning. I set out early as I did not know for sure where I was going. I had my trusted Sherpa with me, my best friend and wife. I had plenty of time to get everything ready. As a former runner/marathoner, I still am intrigued by the amount of stuff we all bring to a triathlon.
I did a lot of walking around, checking out the venue and transition area. I did some very light running.
