Swim
Comments: Second race this year, both times I was uneasy the first side of the swim, then settled in and relaxed the rest of the way. What would you do differently?: Swim more than twice in the last 9 months. Transition 1
Comments: Forgot to set up my watch before the race, (I've decided to not wear one in the swim this year-helps with the fun factor) luckily it was in the first pocket I checked so I took the time to set it up and put it on. Because really, does a ride/run count if you can't put it on Strava? Cyclocross has really helped my mounts/dismounts What would you do differently?: See above. Bike
Comments: I think the wind was stronger this year, only his 43 on the descent, making for a slower race for me. What would you do differently?: Still need to get better in the wind. Transition 2
Comments: set up right next to a puddle, got a bunch of gunk on my foot while running to my rack, but was able to go back to the puddle and wash said gunk off before putting my shoe on. Run
Comments: Felt good, the pace always felt just on the good side of hard. What would you do differently?: Run more. Post race
What limited your ability to perform faster: Too long to start. Event comments: This race felt less organized than last year. Having done this race last year made up for most of the lack of communication, but my friend doing it for his first time had trouble finding a lot of the logistic info a racer might need. Did you know the hockey game went into double overtime the night before? I do. Up too late, worried my phone wouldn't charge (it didn't), woke up on my own at 550. Also, did the TT the day before.
100 yard swim, nothing more.
